SISY 2025 Conference – Subotica, Serbia
The 23rd IEEE International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY 2025) was held from September 25 to 27, 2025, in Subotica, Serbia. The conference was jointly organized by Obuda University, Subotica Tech, University North (Croatia), Juraj Dobrila University of Pula (Croatia), and the IEEE Hungary Section. The in-person event brought together researchers and professionals from 21 countries to discuss the latest achievements and challenges in intelligent systems and informatics.
This year, 128 papers were submitted to the symposium, of which 97 were accepted and presented. The technical program included four plenary lectures delivered by distinguished experts:
- Márta Takács – Fuzzy Challenges
- Bernard De Baets – “Fuzzy Sets”, 60 Years Later
- Robert Kozma – Implementation of Brain-Inspired Multi-Sensory Integration and Decision Making using Embodied Robotic Platforms
- Ljiljana Trajković – Data Mining and Machine Learning for Analysis of Network Traffic
These plenary talks offered deep insights into both theoretical foundations and emerging applications, ranging from fuzzy set theory and its modern developments to machine learning, data analysis, and brain-inspired robotics.
An important new element of SISY 2025 was the introduction of the Women in Engineering and Informatics Special Session, which contributed fresh viewpoints and fostered valuable discussions on diversity, inclusion, and interdisciplinary innovation.
The conference banquet provided an opportunity for informal networking and celebration. A special highlight was the joint birthday celebration of Márta Takács, dedicated during the banquet program, which added a unique moment to the conference’s history.
All accepted and presented papers will be eligible for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore digital library, further strengthening the scientific impact of SISY 2025.
