The 124th IEEE Region 8 Committee Meeting was successfully held in Budapest from April 4 to 6, 2025. The biannual gathering brought together IEEE leaders and volunteers from across Region 8 – covering Europe, Africa, and parts of the Middle East – to review strategic priorities, ongoing regional initiatives, and future collaboration opportunities.

The program featured sessions focused on technical activities, student and young professional engagement, and long-term development directions for the Region. A highlight of the first day was the presentation by the IEEE Hungary Section, delivered by Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács (Past Chair) and Dr. Dániel András Drexler (current Chair), who showcased key achievements and outlined future plans.

The evening cultural program included an impressive jump rope performance by Adrienn Bánhegyi, world and European champion, which added a memorable artistic element to the event. The day concluded with a networking dinner, offering participants the chance to connect in an informal setting.

Throughout the weekend, delegates continued discussions on strengthening regional cooperation, supporting local sections, and preparing for upcoming strategic initiatives. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to advancing the mission of IEEE across Region 8.
